Prendre la parole en public s’avère parfois difficile : on hésite, on stresse, on n’arrive pas à s’exprimer correctement devant d’autres personnes. Pourtant, maitriser l’art oratoire est une faculté des plus importantes pour s’affirmer dans son travail, négocier, entretenir des relations avec ses collaborateurs ou, tout simplement, se sentir plus en confiance. Apprendre à s’exprimer en public, c’est faire connaissance avec soi-même et avoir confiance en ses propres capacités afin de les assumer face au regard des autres.
Comment améliorer votre crédibilité pour mieux vous affirmer lors de toute prise de parole ?
Adoptons ces quelques clés simples pour nous distinguer lors d’une présentation en réunion d’équipe, d’une conférence dans une assemblée ou encore de l’animation d’une convention.
CLÉ 1 : PRÉPAREZ VOTRE INTERVENTION
Un bon orateur est clair, concis et organisé. Il ne se trompe pas de cible et adapte son message à son public. Il transmet à son auditoire, sa passion pour le sujet abordé. Il est détendu avec une gestuelle ouverte et efficace.
Chaque prise de parole étant unique, il est donc nécessaire que vous vous posiez un certain nombre de questions afin de bien préparer votre intervention.
- Qui sont les participants auxquels vous allez vous adresser ?
- Qu’attendent-ils de vous ?
- Quel est leur degré d’expertise par rapport au sujet traité ?
- Quels types de questions peuvent-ils poser ?
- Quels sont les motivations et les besoins des participants ?
- Quelles sont les objections probables, les résistances ? Etc…
Il vous faut ensuite organiser votre discours en suivant un plan bien défini.
CLÉ 2 : APPORTEZ DE LA VALEUR
Une prise de parole n’est utile et efficace que si elle apporte quelque chose de nouveau à votre interlocuteur. Si votre public entend des informations qu’il connait déjà, sans élément nouveau, il vous sera difficile de le conquérir. En effet, il est essentiel qu’à la fin de votre discours, votre auditoire éprouve le sentiment d’avoir appris ou reçu quelque chose.

CLÉ 3 : CAPTIVEZ VOTRE PUBLIC
On n’a pas une seconde chance de faire une bonne impression.
En matière de prise de parole en public, vous avez souvent peu de temps pour convaincre. Il faut donc transmettre à votre auditoire des informations concordantes lui permettant d’avoir un avis tranché et si possible positif dès le début de votre intervention. Ces informations communiquées doivent être structurées en tenant le public en haleine, en jouant avec les figures de style, en utilisant des propos imagés, des anecdotes ou des histoires vécues.
CLÉ 4 : INTERAGISSEZ AVEC VOTRE PUBLIC
Toute intervention devrait prévoir une phase de questions-réponses.
Il est conseillé de positionner ce temps à la fin de votre intervention plutôt qu’en plein milieu, de façon à ne pas perdre le fil de vos idées et d’éviter également un dépassement de temps. Faire l’impasse sur ce temps d’échanges pourrait être perçu comme un manque de respect pour votre auditoire, ou un manque de maitrise de votre sujet. Cette période de questions-réponses permet au public d’approfondir le sujet, et à l’orateur que vous êtes, de vérifier que le message a bien été compris, voire de combler les éventuelles insatisfactions.
CLÉ 5 : MAITRISEZ VOTRE TRAC
Gorge sèche, mains tremblantes, difficultés à s’exprimer… Un cauchemar que connaissent bien ceux qui sont victimes du trac au moment de prendre la parole en public. Rassurez-vous : une préparation physique, mentale et intellectuelle sont autant d’astuces que vous pouvez expérimenter pour surmonter le trac qui contrairement à ce que l’on pense, peut être utilisé comme une force pour se surpasser.
